Gaylon LawrenceGAYLON LAWRENCE, JR.
Vice Chairman

Gaylon carries on a long tradition of banking that goes back to 1908 with family-owned Farmers Bank & Trust in Blytheville, Arkansas. He has been involved in banking on a variety of levels since 1984. He also maintains interests in the family’s Mississippi and Missouri agricultural operations. In 2003, he moved to Tennessee with plans to start Tennessee Bank & Trust because of Middle Tennessee’s exceptional business climate.

“I wanted to create a different kind of bank for Middle Tennessee. A bank where the people we employed, the environment we built and the customer service we offered was not found anywhere else. I’m proud to say we’ve built that kind of bank.”


Steve BellSTEVE BELL
Chairman and Chief Executive Officer

Steve Bell began his banking career in 1973 with Piggott State Bank in Piggott, Arkansas. He attended Arkansas State University and is a graduate of the Banking School of the South at Louisiana State University. In 1983, he was hired by Farmers Bank & Trust in Blytheville, Arkansas as Vice President of Operations. Over the last 20 years, Steve has held various leadership positions at Farmers Bank and in 1998, he was named President and COO. In 2003, Steve relocated to Franklin, TN, to begin start–up operations for Tennessee Bank & Trust. In January 2006, he was named Chairman and CEO of the parent company. Steve is a member of the Franklin Business Leadership Council and a 2006 graduate of Leadership Franklin.


Tim BarnhillTIM BARNHILL
President, Williamson County

Tim Barnhill, a native son to Williamson County, grew up on the family farm in the Pinewood community of western Williamson County, graduating from Fairview High School in 1973. He graduated from Middle Tennessee State University in 1976 (cum laude) and went to work for Production Credit Association as an ag/farmland lender. In 1986, he joined Union Planters Bank in Memphis as a Correspondent Commercial Loan Officer, traveling and calling on banks in Arkansas, Missouri and Louisiana. After three years in correspondent lending, the newly-formed Community Bank Group of Union Planters Corporation (UPC) offered him the position of President and CEO of Pickett County Bank in Byrdstown; DeKalb County Bank in Smithville; and finally, in 1995, Central State Bank in Lexington, all wholly-owned subsidiaries of UPC. Tim left UPC in February of 2003 with 17 years of service. In April of 2003 he joined First Farmers & Merchants Bank in Columbia as its First Vice-President, Commercial Lending. In June 2004 he accepted what he phrased as “the opportunity of a lifetime” to come back home to Williamson County and become involved in the newly formed Tennessee Bank & Trust in Franklin, overseeing the new Commercial Lending department. He was named President of the Williamson County market in January, 2006. Tim is a member of the Franklin–Williamson County Chamber of Commerce and in his spare time, works on his Williamson County farm that has been in his family since the 1840s.


Dan Andrews, Jr.DAN ANDREWS, JR.
President, Nashville Market

A native of Dickson, TN, Dan graduated from Vanderbilt University in 1979. He began his banking career with Nashville City Bank & Trust. He went on to serve as Vice President of Commerce Union Bank in their Regional Middle Market Corporate Lending area. In 1988, AmSouth asked Dan to start its corporate loan office in Nashville. He headed up that division as Senior Vice-President until 1999 when he bought Crown Tent & Awning. In 2005, he was asked to return to the banking world as Executive Vice President of Tennessee Bank & Trust. In 2006, he oversaw the renovation and construction of the new Green Hills site of Tennessee Bank & Trust in the former Davis-Kidd Booksellers location. Dan was named President of the Nashville Market in 2006.
